Revival in Philadelphia April 27 First Assembly of God in Philadelphia will be hosting it’s Spring “Family Of God” Revival beginning Thursday and running through Sunday. A different speaker is lined up for each service, with Thursday, Friday and Saturday services beginning at 7 p.m. and the Sunday service set for 10:30 a.m. Philadelphia First Assembly of God is located near the intersection of Hwy 19 North and the Hwy 15 by- pass in Philadelphia. Eichelberger Scholarship April 28 The Michael Sherrod Eichelberger Scholarship program is set for April 28 at 6 p.m. in the Macon Civic Center. All funds raised from the banquet goes to deserving scholarship applicants. The Precinct Caucuses will start at 10 am at the regular voting precincts. The County Convention will follow at 3 PM at the courthouse. We will be electing our representative and alternate to the State Republican Convention on May 18 – 19 at the Marriott Hotel in Jackson. NAACP Banquet set April 28 Winston County Branch of the NAACP will host its 32nd annual Freedom Fund Banquet, Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. The speaker is Dr. Quindola Crowley Miller from Seattle, Washington. Arts in Motion Registration April 28 Arts in Motion is currently having registration for the following upcoming events: My Little Angel Pageant (April 28, 2012), and Parade of Colors Pageant (June 9, 2012). Senior Citizen Day Celebration May 4 Winston County Triad Annual Senior Citizen Day Celebration will be May 4 at Dean Park. The Habitat for Humanity is also seeking board members with construction and other knowledge to help advise on the present home building project The Winston County Paparazzi The Winston County Paparazzi is working with the MSU Extension Office in Louisville to offer monthly meetings for photography enthusiasts. Backwoods Comics Fest set Sept. 29 This week at BUBBAWORLDCOMIX.NET website a different artist is drawing and writing each strip each day in celebration of April Fools Week. The fun thing about this is that each of the six artists that are helping with this will be at the BACKWOODS COMICS FESTIVAL on Sept. 29, 2012 held at the Louisville Coliseum. Some of them will even be part of the panel discussion at the Strand Theater the night before ( Sept. 28 ). These artists range from Web Cartoonists to independent artists and even a couple of them have worked for companies like Marvel & DC.
