Former residents publish books

From press reports

Sisters and Ackerman natives, Kelli and Kristi Burton, have always enjoyed reading. It was a very important part of their childhood. Now, as adults, they have begun writing for those eager readers like themselves. They hope their books will continue to solidify each child’s love for the written word. With Kristi’s love of writing, Kelli’s graphic design background, and their combined love of reading, this project began with “why not?” Because these books are a joint effort, the sisters are publishing under the name Renae Rae, a combination of their middle names. As of this week, there are three books available for electronic download, with two of them available in print. You may purchase the print versions at The Lazy Lizard in Eupora, MS. The print books along with the electronic books can also be purchased online at: One of their books, Einstein the Lazy Kitty, will be available to download for free from Amazon April 17-21. For more information about these books, you can contact Kristi Burton at 662-285-7032 or email her at
