The Winston County Library is getting ready to observe National Library Week during the month of April. On Friday, April 13th, from 10:00-11:00, attendees will be treated to a program on Attracting Hummingbirds and Butterflies to your yard or garden. The program will be led by Mrs. Margaret Copeland and Mrs. Dianne Patterson, both of Starkville, MS, and members of the Oktibbeha Audubon Society. City and County Officials, as well as Officers of all local Garden Clubs, Library Board Trustees and Officials of Friends of the Library will be honored at an Appreciation Luncheon, on Monday, April 16 from 12:00 – 1:00 at the library. The Friends of the Library will provide a potluck luncheon for everyone. Library staff member Denise Dickerson will conduct four separate computer classes, free to the public, on Monday and Tuesday, April 23-24. On Monday, April 23, she will teach Basic Computer and Basic Microsoft Word from 9:00-11:30 in the library meeting room. That afternoon she will teach Basic Internet and E-Mail from 2:30 – 5:00. On Tuesday, April 24th, she will teach Basic Internet and E-Mail from 9:00-11:30 and Basic Computer and Word from 2:30 – 5:00. You must call ahead of time , 773-3212, and reserve a seat. Fancy Nancy is back! After the great success of the Fancy Nancy tea parties last year, Librarian Beth Edwards and Children’s Librarian Julie Chase will host another Fancy Nancy Tea Party at the library on Saturday, April 28, from 10-11:30 a.m.. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in their Fanciest Nanciest outfit! The Winston County Library serves about 6,000 people a month with book checkout, computer usage or other educational services.
