ECCC Collegians plan Spring Concert

The Collegians, East Central Community College’s rock ‘n’ roll band, will present their spring semester campus concert at 8 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2012, in Huff Auditorium in Decatur. Admission is free to popular group’s performance, which features music by Carrie Underwood, Adele, Coldplay, AC/DC and many other artists. Also scheduled is a performance by this year’s “guest band,” which features former Collegian instrumentalists as well as director/ guitarist Thomas W. Carson’s three children – Chris, Jennifer and Jeremy – all former/present Collegians, in celebration of Carson’s upcoming retirement. Collegian members include technicians Kirk Griffin of Union, Danny Smith of Carthage, Cole Stanley of Sumrall, Austin Jay (head technician) of Union, Audrey Cannon of Brandon, Michael Buntyn of Newton, Gareth Driskell of Collinsville, Justin Collins of Forest and D.J. Harris of Sumrall; Chris Lyons (drum set) of Philadelphia; vocalists Jeremy Carson of Decatur, Ava Marie Adkins and Bailee Viverette, both of Union, Persephiney Wingo of Morton, Macey Seale of Philadelphia and D. J. Townsend of Carthage; Clint Reynolds (bass guitar), Philadelphia; Jacob King (auxiliary percussion), Conehatta; Alyse Webb (keyboards), Noxapater; Hannah Cade (first trumpet), Collinsville; Georgia Donner (second trumpet), Bailey; Tyler Yates (trombone), Decatur; and Courtney Mackey (alto/tenor sax), Meridian.
