The Red Hills Festival will make a return for its 32nd year to Louisville’s downtown this Memorial Day weekend on May 26. The festival provides “a celebration of the people and their talents and the affirming sense of community in the Red Hills of east central Mississippi,” noted Linda Skelton of the Winston County Chamber of Commerce. A carnival will be downtown starting Thursday night and running through Saturday. The Red Hills Festival will kick off Friday night as vendors set up and a band entertains downtown while any one may “get a little groove going” on the blocked off streets in front of the stage. Saturday will be full of activities with the annual Red Hills Car Show along with various street vendors. For the third year in a row the Junior Auxiliary of Louisville will host a 5K and Fun Run in the morning of the festival. Also all county churches and communities are invited to be part of the Louisville Homecoming that Saturday which recently held a planning meeting in hopes of drawing even more visitors “back home”. The First United Methodist Church will host its annual Antique Show and Sale Saturday morning as well. The Winston County Chamber has scheduled a full line up of entertainment for the day. The Red Hills Car Show will be held at the First Baptist Church, where cars will be judged in more than 30 classes.
