‘CAPPS’ in full swing

From press reports

The spring semester has been a busy time for students at CAPPS! Teacher interns from Mississippi State University’s K-8 Math Foundations class have been working one-on-one with students twice weekly on math enrichment activities. Eiland Middle School BETA Club members talked to the fifth graders about the importance of bicycle safety. Students have been working on science and math extension projects, as well as practicing for the MCT-2 and SATP state tests. CAPPS (Changing Academic Progress and Promoting Success) serves over 150 students daily at three sites in the Louisville Municipal School District. The program is in its third year of operation and has both after-school and summer sessions. For more information call 773-2035.
