Pilot Club meets, discusses brain safety

The Pilot Club of Louisville had the March meeting at Lake Tiak O Khata with Safety and Health Committee in charge. Club President Paula Fulton opened the meeting and welcomed the guest speaker. After the devotion by Mary Blanset and the Pledge of Allegiance, the club enjoyed a meal of loaded baked potatoes and green salad. Safety and Health Committee Chairman DeLaine Woodruff introduced the guest speaker, Mrs. Mississippi International Traci Mongeon of Ackerman, Mississippi. Traci is an advocate for ATV Safety and Prevention of Brain Injury. She spoke on what we can do to prevent brain injuries when riding on an ATV. To reduce the risk of injuries, receive training in an ATV Rider Course which is available for 4-H’ers at the Extension Office in Ackerman, Mississippi. Members of the club presented Traci with a Brainminders Buddy skit for her trip to Chicago. After the program, DeLaine Woodruff presented the guest speaker with a gift of pottery that was made from Stewart Pottery. Club President Paula Fulton then went into the Business session of the meeting. Pageant Chair Wanda Ward went over the last minute details of the pageant that will be held on March 31 at Louisville High School at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend. The meeting was adjourned with the club motto “True Course Ever”.
