1st Annual PCA Rodeo March 23, 24
Rafter-L Rodeo Company from Philadelphia will present their 1st Annual PCA Rodeo at the Louisville Coliseum on March 23 and 24, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and rodeo starting at 7:30 p.m. General admission for the event will be $10, with children 8 years and under receiving free admission. 10% of these proceeds will go to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. An After Rodeo Party will take place at the Shriner’s Building on 3305 Hwy 15. The after party will include performances by Rico & the Border Patrol on Friday night, and Southbound on Saturday night. Volleyball League begins March 27
Enrollment for the Volleyball League sponsored by Eric Davis will begin at the Louisville Coliseum on March 27 at 6 p.m. Deadline for entry will be March 27. The season will begin on March 29 and will end on May 3. Entry fee for the league will be $100 per team, consisting of 8 player teams (please provide your team’s roster). Games will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday’s at 6, 7, and 8 p.m. Games will be best 2 out of 3, and the score will be to 15. A tournament will be held after the season on May 5 starting at noon-until. 1st place winner will receive a trophy and 8 tees. 2nd place winner will receive a trophy. Triad Council Meeting March 27
The Triad Council will meet on Tuesday, March 27 at 12 noon. The meeting will be held at the Weir Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Fellowship Hall on Martin Luther King Blvd in Weir. Come and enjoy the fellowship with friends, if the weather permits.
Triad is the agreement of Law Enforcement Agencies in the County and older or retired persons in the community working together to reduce the criminal victimization of the elderly and the disabled persons in the county. Triad works to reduce crime for everyone. Mother Anita Terrell from Louisville with the Tri C Disease Coalition Training MS State Department of Health Diabetes Prevention & Control Program has been invited to attend our meeting with important facts on Diabetes. The Triad Council will not be purchasing meals. Therefore the Triad Council Members will volunteer to bring a covered dish to enjoy fellowship with each other.

Winston County Chiefs Sign Up Date

Sign up Date for the 2012 Winston County Chiefs Football will be Saturday, March 31, 2012, at the Chiefs Field/Eiland Middle School Field. Sign up time will begin at 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. The Early Registration and Sign Up fee will be $80.00 per child, and $40.00 for the 2nd child in the same household. These fees will remain until Monday, April 16, 2012, and after April 16, 2012, the fee will be $100.00 per child. This registration is for Spring and Fall. Special Olympics Motorcycle Ride
The 2nd Annual Area 18 Special Olympic Motorcycle Ride will begin at Depot Market Place in Philadelphia on March 31. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and the ride will begin at 9:30 a.m. The proposed course is Philadelphia to Louisville to Carthage and back to Philadelphia. After the ride the cyclist will be treated to lunch at Whistle Stop Café in Depot Family Fun Center at the Depot Market Place. Cost will be $30 per bike and one rider. A second rider will be an additional $5. There will also be a silent auction and give away a La-Z-boy recliner. Money raised will help pay for athletes to attend Summer Games in Biloxi in May. Winston County Habitat for Humanity has signed Gail Pittman Christmas ornaments and plates for sale at the Silver Goose and Habitat cookbooks for sale at the Winston County Library.
The Habitat for Humanity is also seeking board members with construction and other knowledge to help advise on the present home building project
