Jamario Smith posted two first-place finishes for Nanih Waiya in the
1A Regional Track Meet at Canton last Saturday, while Kenley McMullan
picked up one of her own.
Athletes who finished in the top four in their events qualified for
this Saturday’s MHSAA Class 1A South State Track Meet set for St.
Andrews in Ridgeland.
In all, eight Lady Warriors qualified in 10 events, while three
Warriors qualified in seven events.
Smith took first in the 100 meters and long jump for Nanih Waiya,
while placing second in the 200 meters. McMullan was first in the
girls 3200 meter run and was second in the 800 meters.
Other Nanih Waiya Lady Warriors who qualified, their place and their
events are as follows: Rylee Holdiness, second 3200 meters; Livia
Bush, second 400 meters and fourth 100 meter hurdles; Attia Smith,
third 100 meters; Mackenzie Johnson, fourth 100 meters; Logan
Fulcher, fourth 1600 meters; Kara Lane Nowell, second discus; and
Ryan Holdiness, fourth discus.
Isiah Eiland was second in the boys 110 meter hurdles and the 300
meter hurdles, while Dillon Dent was fourth in the boys 110 meter
hurdles and the 200 meters.
