Noxapater Lady Tigers win regional track championship

The Noxapater High School girls track team blew away the competition
on Saturday in Canton to take the Regional Track Championship, while
the Noxapater boys fared well also, claiming third.
The Lady Tigers took six individual titles, while the boys claimed
three. In all Noxapater had six girls qualify for 10 events in the
MHSAA South State Track Meet at St. Andrews this Saturday, while the
Tigers had seven boys qualify for nine individual events.
Chelsea Moore had a huge day for the Lady Tigers taking first in both
the shot put and discus. She had a Class 1A best 34 foot, six inch
distance in the shot put and a Class 1A best toss of 117 feet, six
inches in the discus.
Treasure Lynch also posted a pair of first-place finishes, claiming
titles in the long jump and triple jump, while Kiera Phillips took
first in the 200 meters and Margretta Bridgeman claimed first in the
low hurdles.
Phillips also took a second in the triple jump, while Bridgeman had a
second in the 200 meters. Deanna Sangster was third in the 100
hurdles for the Lady Tigers, while the Noxapater girls 4×100 meter
relay team of Lynch, Aleaka Brown, Phillips and Brittany Triplett
took second and the 4×200 relay team of Lynch, Brown, Phillips and
Olivia McDonald took third.
Jacoby Lewis won the boys shot put with a toss of 49 feet, seven
inches, while Trevara Miller took the top spot in the discus and
Jarrius Carter took first in the 800 meters. Miller also took second
in the shot put, while Carter was third in the 1600 meters.
Brandon Moore was third in the discuss, Rodney Wilmer was third in
the high jump, Terry Baber fourth in the triple Jump, and Christopher
Johnson was fourth in the 300 meter hurdles.
The 400 meter relay team of Wilmer, Baber, Katorris Coburn and Khalil
Moore took third.
