Students awarded Yates Scholarship

Winston County students Zachary Allen and Hunter Luke have been
awarded a $4,000 Yates Companies, Inc. Scholarship for their first
two years of college. Both were selected by a scholarship committee
at The Yates Companies, Inc. based upon academics, extra-curricular
activities and two short essays.
Carolyn Voyles, Chairperson of The Yates Companies, Inc. Scholarship
Committee said, “We set up the scholarship program to recognize and
reward high school seniors of our employees who meet certain criteria
and wish to further education at post-secondary level. This allows us
to be a part of preparing young people for the future.”
Zachary will graduate from Winston Academy this spring and plans to
major in Pre-Medicine in college this fall. Zachary is the son of
Todd and Janet Allen. Zachary’s father works for W.G. Yates & Sons
Construction Company, a part of the Yates Companies, Inc.
Hunter will graduate from Nanih Waiya Attendance Center this spring
and plans to major in Business Management in college this fall.
Hunter is the son of Shawn Luke and Kim Rosamond. Hunter’s mother
works for W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Company, a part of The Yates
Companies, Inc.
