Taylor Power Systems promotes John Scarborough to General Manager

The Taylor Power Systems president, Robert Taylor, recently announced
the promotion of John Scarborough to the position of General Manager,
“I am proud to see John grow into this position and with his
experience and leadership the Taylor Power team will continue to grow
into the premiere standby and prime power provider in this nation.
We look forward to great things in the future under John’s direction.”
Scarborough is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Scarborough of Hollandale,
Mississippi, and he attended Deer Creek School in Arcola. With
engines and equipment being a major part of his upbringing, coupled
with living in the rich farm land of the Mississippi Delta,
Scarborough began his studies of Agricultural Economics at
Mississippi Delta Community College and then transferred to
Mississippi State University.
After college, he became Farm Manager of Greenland Planting Company
with responsibilities of staff supervision and equipment maintenance
and repair. In 1990, he began his sales experience with IPSCO, an
irrigation company/engine distributor, which also manufactured
generators and pump-sets.
His expertise and experience with engines and generators landed him a
position as a Taylor Power Systems sales representative in 1993 where
his initial sales focus was generators, Perkins engines and parts
sales to a variety of industries. Later he became solely responsible
for selling specialized prime power generators to the Intermodal
industry. In 2003 he became responsible for generator sales for a
variety of applications and industries. In 2009, he was promoted to
Sales Manager and in August 2010 he was promoted to General Sales
Manager bringing the service and parts departments under his
leadership as well as the sales department.
Scarborough serves on the Industrial Strategy Council for Caterpillar
and Perkins Industrial Power Systems Division as well as being
involved in a multitude of Taylor Power Systems-related functions and
activities. He and his wife, Molly, have two children, Lauren and
Reed, and are avid sports enthusiasts, especially when it involves
their children. They reside in Flora, Mississippi.
