Nanih Waiya tracksters fare well in district meet

Jamario Smith claimed first place in three events at the District
Track Meet in Winona last week and was one of 14 Nanih Waiya High
School athletes qualifying for the MHSAA Class 1A Regional Track Meet
in Canton this Saturday at 10 a.m.

Kenley McMullen took first in the girls 800 and 3200 meter events,
while Isaiah Eiland took first in the boys 300 meter hurdles. He also
took second in the 110 hurdles.

The top four finishers in each event qualified for the regional meet
this weekend.

Other Nanih Waiya athletes qualifying were: Dylan Dent, third in 110
hurdles and fourth in 400 meter dash; Ken McQueen fourth in 100 meter
dash and fourth in 200 meter dash; Attia Smith, second in 100 meters;
Mackenzie Johnson third in 200 meters and fourth in 100 meters; Livia
Bush, second in 400 meter dash and second in 300 meter hurdles; Laken
McAdory, fourth in 300 meter hurdles; Makenzie Clark, third in 800
meters; Logan Fulcher, second in 1600 meters; Rylee Holdiness, third
in 1600 meters and second in 3200 meters; Kara Lane Nowell, second in
discus; and Ryan Holdiness third in discus.

The 4×400 girls relay team finished second, while the 4×100 and 4×400
girls relay teams each finished third.

The Lady Warriors finished second overall in the district meet, while
the boys were third.
