Youth Fishing Rodeo May 4

From staff reports

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP)
Fisheries Bureau and Legion State Park are hosting a youth fishing
rodeo on Saturday, May 4, 2013.

The fishing rodeo is open to youth ages 4 to 12 years of age, and
registration begins at 7 a.m and continues until 9 a.m. Opening
ceremonies will be held at 8 a.m. with the announcement of the rules
and regulations.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing gear,
catfish bait, and stringers. Each child must be accompanied by a
parent, grandparent or responsible adult.

The rodeos offer a quality fishing experience for youth anglers in a
controlled and safe environment. The rodeo pond will be stocked with
catfish to make it easier for participants to catch fish. This rodeo
is a great way for families to spend quality time together according
to MDWF.

Fishing will end with a 10 a.m. check in and awarding of prizes. A
hot dog and refreshments will be available from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
