The Lady Tigers of Noxapater High School took a week off from
district action last week, by taking on West Point High school in a
home and away series.

This week Noxapater, which was 5-1 overall and 2-0 in district before
beginning play last week, was set to return to league play by hosting
Nanih Waiya on Tuesday. The Lady Tigers will then visit Sebastopol on
Friday in make-up game before hosting league foe Weir next Monday.

On April 11 the Lady Tigers visit Nanih Waiya before traveling to
Louisville on April 15.

No results from last week’s games with West Point were reported.

Noxapater faces key game on Friday

Noxapater won two of its three district games last week to stay in
play for one of the league’s three playoff spots.

While the Tigers were set to host French Camp on Tuesday night, the
key game this week could very will be a home match-up with West Lowndes.

“If we want to have a shot at the playoffs, then that one is really a
must win,” said Noxapater head coach Casey Orr. “It all boils down to
we have to beat West Lowndes.”

At this point Nanih Waiya and French Camp are the front runners in
the district, especially after FCA’s win over NW last week.

It was that win that Noxapater had to deal with when the Warriors
came to town to play the Tigers on Thursday.

“They certainly came in wanting to prove something,” Orr said of
Nanih Waiya’s 13-0 win over the Tigers. “They were on fire at the
plate. They are a good baseball team and they showed it.”

The Tigers had swept visiting East Oktibbeha in a doubleheader on
Tuesday, with both games lasting only three innings each.

Marshal Kugle and Tristin Boyette combined to throw a perfect game
for Noxapater in the Tigers’ 15-0 win in the opener, while Austin
Snow, Keonte Daniels and Brandon Kugle tossed a combined no-hitter in
the 12-0 win in the nightcap.

Trevara Miller, Marshall Kugle and Daniels swung the big bats for the
Tigers in the doubleheader sweep.
