Louisville set to hose District 4-4A tennis tournament

Monday will be a busy day at Ivy Park as Louisville High School will
be playing host to the six-team District 4-4A tennis tournament that
is set to begin at 9 a.m. and run through most of the day.

Houston is the top-seeded team in the event, while Louisville’s Javon
Yarbrough is the top-seeded boys singles player in the event.

Joining Houston and Louisville in the tournament that will feature
boys and girls singles, boys and girls doubles and mixed doubles will
be Kosciusko, Mississippi School of Math and Science, Leake Central
and Noxubee County.

While Yarbrough is the top-seeded boys singles player, Louisville’s
Destiny Gooden is the second-seeded girls singles player.

Competing in boys doubles for LHS in the event will be the teams of
Kirk Sisson and Mail Bates, and Dustin Jackson and Tykeyvious Houston.

The LHS girls doubles team of Shanteezy Carter and Fansy Goss will
likely be seeded second or third. Also playing girls doubles for the
Wildcats will be Alexus Coleman and Ciera Tanner. Alondus Pledge and
Labrisha Clark will be competing in mixed doubles.
