2013 Miss Ebonette Scholarship Pageant has been scheduled

The Ebonette Club of Louisville is working to prepare for the iss
Ebonette Scholarship Pageant. “Moving Forward” is the theme for this
year. The Pageant is an excellent opportunity for some of Winston
County’s brightest an most accomplished seniors who are college bound
to compete for scholarships.
The program participants will take the stage at Louisville High
School auditorium at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013, to vie for
scholarships and the title of 2013 Miss Ebonette.
Five joy-filled young ladies will be competing for the title of Miss
Ebonette 2013. They are Shanteeze Carter, TyKeria Harris, Laterrica
Hunt, Kianna McCully, and Ciera Tanner.
Four scholarships will be awarded: Miss Ebonette- $1,000.00 First
Alternate- $300.00; Second Alternate- $200.00; and Scholastic Award-
$100.00. The Talent will receive a trophy. All contestants will be
awarded a trophy.
Tickets are $5.00 in advance and $8.00 at the door. Pearlean Y.
McReynolds will serve as chairperson, and Maxine Coburn will serve as
co-chairperson for the pageant. Please contact contestants and

Shanteeze Carter is a senior at Louisville High School. She is the
daughter of Toni Harris and Anthony Carter. Her favorite subject is
Math. Her plans are to attend Meridian Community College and enter
kinesiology and cosmetology because she wants to work with people’s
health and sports medicine. She also wants to do hair.
Shanteeze is a member of SADD. She was a member of Teens on the
move. She was awarded Senior Maid on the 2012- 2013 Homecoming
Court. She is graduating number 30 in her class.
She was a cheerleader for six years; played tennis for five years;
was in the band for seven years and color guard for one year. She
likes to have fun and hang out with friends and family. She is
interested in traveling around the world and experiencing new things.
Shanteeze is a member of Agape Baptist Church where she like to work
with the needy around the community.
Shanteeze will be performing a praise dance to Tamela Mann’s “Take Me
to the King.”
TyKeria Shane’ Harris is a senior at Louisville High School. She is
the daughter of Eric Holmes and Yamitt Hampton. Her favorite
subjects are English IV and Economics. Her plans are to attend
Meridian Community College and eventually join the Air Force.
TyKeria is on the Honor Roll. She won the Lady Slugger, Best Defense
and Offense awards in Softball. She was on the 2010 Homecoming
Court. She is a member of the LHS Choir, Beta Club, L Club, and
SADD. TyKeria attended Design Technology for two years. She won the
Best Brass Award for 2009 and 1st and 2nd Team for Fast Pitch and
Slow Pitch All Stars.
She is a member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she
sings in the choir.
TyKeria will be singing “”I’d Rather Go Blind” by Etta James.
Laterrica Hunt is a senior at Louisville High School. She is the
daughter of Qumesha Eiland and Michael Hunt. Her favorite subject is
Economics. Laterrica plans to attend East Central Community College
of Alcorn State University. She wants to become a pediatrician
because she adores children and love to nurse them.
Laterrica has played softball for Louisville High School for six
years where she received best defensive player and most improved.
She is also a member of the L Club and first and second team for fast
pitch and softball.
Laterrica’s hobbies are playing softball, being with friends and
family, texting and talking on the phone. She is interested in
joining the army soon.
She attends Mt. Pleasant No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church.
Larraeicca will perform a praise dance.
Kianna Renae McCully is a senior at Louisville High School. She is
the daughter of Kenisha McCully and Gail Henley. Her favorite
subject is Economics. Kianna plans to attend Meridian Community
College to become a certified nursing assistant because she loves to
help people.
She is a member of FCCLA Design Technology class, and a member of
Eiland Middle School Band and their basketball team. She enjoys
singing and dancing, listening to music and she adores babies
Kianna is a member of Miller’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church
where she sings in the youth choir.
Kianna will be doing a monologue to “Phenomenal Woman” by Mia Angelou.
Ciera Chantal Tanner is a senior at Louisville High School. She is
the daughter of Sonja Tanner and Terry Shaquenda Tanner. Her
favorite subjects are Spanish, Biology and US History. She plans to
attend the University of Southern Mississippi.
Her plans are to become a pediatrician or OGBYN because she enjoys
taking care of small children and keeping them happy and healthy.
Ciera is and has been a member of the band for seven years. In the
band she served as the section leader in the trombones and received
Most Outstanding player and Most Valuable Player awards. She
received the S.T.E.M. award her 9th grade year, the Citizenship Award
her 10th year, and Family Dynamics Award her 11th year. Ciera has
been a part of both the softball team for four years and choir for
three years. She was elected president of her class during 9th,
10th, and 12th grades. She has also served on the LHS Student
Council since her freshman year. Ciera is presently the Student Body
President of Louisville High School. She will be graduating sixth in
her class along with other honors.
Her hobbies are doing hair and nails, shopping, baking, singing and
listening to music. She enjoys playing tennis and softball and is
interested in going to church, spending time with family and friends,
tutoring and helping other children get a better education. She is
also interested in seeing everyone in her class graduate on May 24th.
Ciera is active in her community through volunteering at the Boys and
Girls Club, being a leader of the Breast Cancer Awareness charity,
the Thanksgiving luncheon for needy families in Winston County, and
also leading a charity program called “Pennies for Patients” for
people suffering from blood cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma.
Ciera is a Christian an member of Trinity Church of God in Christ
here in Louisville.
Ciera will be performing a musical medley featuring songs by; Adele-
“One and Only”, Alicia Keys “If I Ain’t Got You”, and Whitney
Houston “I Look to You!”
