The 6-4 Winston Academy Patriots head into this week trying to pick
up some momentum as they were set to face the Leake Academy Rebels in
a pair of district contests.

The last week was a little tough on the Pats, as they dropped three
out of four games, including a pair to MAIS A power Winona Christian

WA took part in Winona Christian’s spring break tournament last week,
sandwiching a pair of losses to host WCS around a solid 3-0 win over
Central Holmes Christian School.

Braxton Wall took the win on the mound for Winston against Central
Holmes, giving up just three hits and striking out six in four
innings of work. Taylor Moody and Brody Burchfield had two singles
each for WA in the game, while Logan Webb and Wall added a hit each.

The week started with a 2-0 loss to the WCS Stars, where the Patriots
were held hitless in the five-inning game. Winston’s Channing Wall
also pitched well, striking out five and not allowing an earned run
in his five innings of work that saw him give up just four hits.

Later in the week WA lost to Winona Christian 7-0. Moody and
Burchfield each had a single for the Patriots, while D.K. Boydstun
took the loss on the mound.

The Patriots began this week with a loss, falling to Heritage Academy
7-1 on Monday night. Braxton Wall cracked a double for WA, while
Kenny Wright, Boydstun and Peyton Allen each had a single.

The Patriots were scheduled to host Leake on Tuesday night, before
traveling to Madden to take on the Rebels on Thursday.
