Municipal elections see few qualifiers

Local municipal elections gained few candidates to the ballot besides
the incumbents already in place.

In Louisville, Alderman- At-Large Frances Ball will face democratic
challenger Stacy Thames in the party primary and Larry Veazey, an
independent, in the general election.
In Noxapater, six persons will vie for five aldermen spots. Those
signed up are Grady Suttle; Tom Bartholmew; Robert Wall, Jr.; Jessie
James Hudson, Chris Wells and Brian Burrage.

Noxapater only had Sammy Carter seek the mayor’s post.

Louisville Mayor Will Hill, Louisville Alderman Ward 1 Dickie
Caperton, Louisville Alderman Ward 2 Judy McLeod, Louisville Alderman
Ward 3 Gwenita Mays, Louisville Alderman Eugene Crosby, and City
Clerk Babs Fulton will gain reelection since they were the only ones
who filed for office.

Voters wishing to cast a ballot in the city elections have until
April 6 to register to vote in the May 7 party primaries.

Party primaries are Tuesday, May 7. The general election is Tuesday,
June 4.
