Ms. Jackie Houston Mavis Montgomery “Jackie” Houston, age 87, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at North MS Medical Center in Pontotoc, MS. She was born September 17, 1925 to Hilary Delay Montgomery and Esther Ann Watson Montgomery in Ackerman, MS. Services were held at 11 a. m., Monday, February 18, 2013 at Aberdeen First Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Freeman and Rev. Wayne Bruchey officiating. Burial followed in Oddfellows Rest Cemetery. She lived most of her life in Aberdeen. She retired after 50 years as bookkeeper for Aberdeen Ford Dealerships. She was a member of Aberdeen First Presbyterian Church where she served as Elder. Waddell served the people of Neshoba County two terms as constable and five consecutive terms as sheriff. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Roy Ryals Mr. Roy Ryals, 77, died Thursday, February 14, 2013, at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Mr. Ryals was born September 30, 1935, in Neshoba County, MS. He worked as an auditor for the Mississippi Farmer’s Cooperative, and was instrumental in building the Co-op. He was former manager of the Winston County Co-op. He was retired from Equitable Insurance Company. He attended Mississippi State University and was an avid MSU fan. He loved hunting, golf, and nature. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary] Patricia “Pat” Ryals; his parents, Naomi and Harvey Ryals; and a brother, Torris Ryals.
