LHS powerlifters score well at meet

Congratulations to the LHS Powerlifters who lifted in the West Lauderdale Powerlifting Meet the last weekend in January.

They competed against four other schools: West Lauderdale, Meridian, Leak Central and Clarksdale.

1st place in the super heavy weight class went to Tyler Hickman with lifts of 600 pounds in the squat category, 305 pounds in the bench press category and 475 pounds in the dead lift category, which is a total of 1,380 pounds.

1st place in the 220 pound class went to Jeremy Sangster with lifts of 410 pounds in the squat category, 290 pounds in the bench press category, which is a total of 1,200 pounds.

1st place in the 275 pound class went to Chad Metts with lifts of 330 pounds in the squat category, 235 in the bench press category, 380 pounds in the dead lift category, which is a total of 945 pounds.

2nd place in the super heavy weight class went to John McAdory with sifts of 405 pounds in the squat category, 345 pounds in the bench press category and 405 pounds in the dead lift category, which is a total of 1,255 pounds.

The Powerlifting team is lead by Coaches Wayne Jones and Rhyne Thompson.

The next meet will be the district meet that is held at Caladonia High School on the February 15.
