Marriage Educators from the Building Strong Families Project met with community leader Rose Coffey-Graham to plan the upcoming “Let It Rip” /BSF workshop. Let it RIP (Recreation Intervention Program) is a group that focuses on wellness and exercise for its members. Building Strong Families (BSF) hosts Marriage Education Classes in the tri- county area of Oktibbeha, Choctaw, and Winston. The two organizations have united in an effort to make a positive impact on the community by focusing on the role of family and positive relationships in a person’s overall wellness.
The free Marriage Education workshops are scheduled for February 18th and March 18th from 6:00pm – 7:30pm at West Oktibbeha High School. This event is open to both couples and singles alike. The workshops will culminate in a reception honoring those who complete the BSF curriculum and the Controllers Generation II 4-H Club. The Controllers recently received the State of Mississippi’s Governor’s Banner Club Award for “top club in the state.” The reception will be held at West Oktibbeha High School on March 18th at 7:00pm. Anyone wanting to attend the event must R.S.V.P. to Rose Coffey by March 15.
The Let it R.I.P program is an ongoing service project of 4-H that emphasizes the importance of proper health, fitness, and nutrition. For further information or to R.S.V.P. call Rose Coffey-Graham at (662) 242-7962.
