Cornerstone Clinic continues to serve the community’s needs and has supporters throughout the community for its efforts.
Recently, BancorpSouth showed its support with a tax-deductible donation to the community health organization for the second time this year.
“We want to promote others giving to this great service,” stated Jason Cagle of BancorpSouth.
Kyle Curran, BancorpSouth’s newest Louisville employee presented Dr. Dewitt Crawford of Cornerstone with the check to help with the clinic’s services. Cornerstone Clinic began in 1999 as a collaborative effort of the churches and the medical community of Winston County to address medical needs in the county because of the increasing poverty level.
Cornerstone Clinic is staffed completely by volunteers– doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, clerical staff and janitors. The clinic endeavors to help the needs of uninsured workers and the unemployed poor of Winston County who have no government assistance.
These services include office visits, some medication and limited lab work. The lab work is provided to Cornerstone patients by Winston Medical Center and Louisville Medical Associates. The clinic is supported entirely by donations from individuals, churches, civic organizations, businesses and reimbursements for medical records. The need for services has increased in the last few years because of the deteriorating economic situation and increasing unemployment. Donations may be mailed to Cornerstone Clinic, P.O. Box 561, Louisville, MS 39339.
Cornerstone Clinic is a 501(c) nonprofit, and is an American tax- exempt nonprofit organization.
