East Central Community College (ECCC) has been serving the educational needs of the communities since 1928. With an open-door policy and affordable tuition, the College has affected the lives of countless individuals who would otherwise not have had the opportunity to achieve their educational goals.
With that in mind the College has embarked on a strategic planning process titled 2020 Vision. “20/20 vision” is a term used to express the sharpness or clarity of vision at a distance. As such, the college administration wants the 2020 Vision strategic plan to provide a clear picture as to where the college is headed and what they want to achieve by the year 2020.
So far, this process has included a review of the college’s mission and core values in order to solidify institutional commitments necessary to achieve the vision.
This is college hopes to gain personal insights from community members to ensure that broad and diverse input is collected as they develop a strategic plan.
Therefore, ECCC will participate in Public Forums throughout the five- county service area to solicit feedback from members of the community on the future of the College.
The public forum in Winston County will be held at Lake Tiak O’Khata on January 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“As the community’s college we want to know how members of the community see the College now and in the future,” stated school president Bill W. Stewart.
