Jets will be in the air and veterans on the ground Friday, Nov. 9 as Veterans of all ages are honored with a Blue Star Memorial Marker.

The marker will be unveiled at Highway 25 by-pass near the Exxon Station. This Marker honors veterans of all ages. The ceremony will begin Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. The program will include the LHS Band, The Color Guard and the National Anthem sung by Mrs. Mary Tabor.

Local clergy, elected officials, state officials and Northern District Commissioner Mike Taggart will speak. A fly-over featuring the P-5, Bombers will take place promptly at 11:15 a.m. The public is invited to attend and particularly all veterans. The Blue Star Memorial Marker is a project of the National Garden Clubs. The funding for them is done by the local Garden Clubs, which is quite a tribute to the three local clubs. The three Garden Clubs, Town and Country, Louisville and Winston are sponsoring the Blue Star Memorial Marker event.
