Mayor’s Youth Leadership Core Training program set

The City of Louisville and The Mississippi School of Protocol & Etiquette have formed a Strategic Partnership Alliance to offer leadership training titled “The Mayor’s Youth Leadership Core Training Program” to the youth of Louisville, Mississippi.

Participants may join the Louisville’s Mayor’s youth council; a council to give Louisville’s youth a community wide voice in many areas of citizenship.

The Mayor’s Youth Leadership Core Training Program will provide participants, ages 7-12 and 13-18, the opportunity to learn and master; leadership skills, social and community skills, self-esteem and confidence building, proper introductions, telephone etiquette, conversation and listening skills and dining etiquette.

“The return to traditional values has brought about an increased appreciation of civility. A foundation of good manners and leadership skills give young people of all ages an opportunity to focus on their success,” said James Pearson, Director of the Mississippi School of Protocol & Etiquette. “Students will learn to feel comfortable and self-assured in social situations regardless of their situations.”

“The interactive program teach leadership, courtesy and respect through role-playing exercises and illustrated work-books and computer modules,” said Will Hill, Mayor of Louisville, Mississippi. “Through this partnership, together we will open the door of opportunity for each participant to learn about their responsibility of citizenship as leaders in all areas of their lives regardless of underlying pressures.”

As Mississippi’s first professional Protocol, Etiquette, and Leadership training organization, the Mississippi School of Protocol & Etiquette has provided dynamic leadership programs that participants will use with confidence for the rest of their lives for the past 11 years. The Mayor’s Youth Leadership Core Training Program Details: • Registration begins in person at the Mayor’s office on Thursday, October 11, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. • Program starts Thursday, October 18, and will meet every Thursday for 4 to five weeks. • Program times: Ages 7-12 meet Friday from 4:00 till 5:30; Ages 13-18 meet from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. • Investment: $45per student. • Location: City Hall 200 South Church Ave Louisville, MS. 39339 • All students completing the program will receive a certificate of completion that may be used for college application and job interviews. • All students will receive recognition from Mayor Will Hill. • All students, parents and sponsors will be invited to a formal 5 course dining Graduation Dinner.
