Backwoods Comic Fest draws vendors, crowds

Unique visitors with resemblances to Princess Leia and other characters appeared at Louisville Coliseum on Sept. 29 for a first ever Backwoods Comics festival.

Festival organizer Andy Childress thanked all the visitors and vendors for help make the event a success.

Childress also noted the positive economic impact of the event with visitors dining and purchasing items in the community. “It was great success and brought people to Louisville,” said Childress who is already planning next year’s event.

The festival celebrated comics, science fiction, as well as other genres and creative outlets.

Vendors appearing at the event were: Arlo & Janis creator Jimmy Johnson, Inky the Clown, Bubbaworld Comix Andy Childress ( with the Geeky the Clown ventriloquist puppet ), Neo Earth web comic Bryan King, The Errant Apprentice & Mailbox Rocketship web comics Kevin Hayman, web cartoonist Kit White (Arkansas), web cartoonist & sketch card artist Lin Workman, web cartoonists Jennifer Walker ( Florida ), Floating Bunny Head comic artists, T.D.
