Homecoming week was September 24th – 28th. Each day the students and staff were allowed to dress for a daily theme. Monday: Dress to Impress; Tuesday: Geriatric Day; Wednesday: 80s Day; Thursday: Cartoon/Superhero Day; and Friday: Spirit Day. This was a great treat for the children to be out of their uniforms for one week. On Homecoming Friday, our students had a ball at the pep rally. Football players, cheerleaders, the wildcat mascot, and Coach Miller were present to make it an extra-special event. The smiles on the students’ faces showed exactly how much it meant to them to be a part of this event.
Mrs. Chappell and Mrs. Merritt’s Kindergarten class learned fun facts about a variety of dinosaurs. The students created a dinosaur with sight words, made patterns on dinosaur bones, and made a model dinosaur with their family. The students competed to see who could create the most unique dinosaur. There were dinosaurs made out of cake, laffy taffy, coke cans, cable plugs, playdough, jello, and many more interesting items. The dinosaurs were judged by Fair Elementary teachers and staff.
First Place: Charleigh Miller; Second Place: Skyla Collier and Allen Landrum; and Third Place: Jodie Preston and Tyrese Pease. All of the dinosaurs were creative and amazing! Thank you to all the families who participated and enjoyed spending quality time with your child.
