Habitat event set Sept. 28 Habitat Cotton Gin Festival Kick-Off Concert will be September 28, 2012 at the Catfish Opera in Noxapater MS, from 7:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m. The Red Hills String Band will be performing bluegrass, country and gospel. Admission will be $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for 15 and under. LHS Homecoming Sept.28 It’s Wildcat Night on the Safari. Come and Celebrate with the cats Friday, September 28, 2012. The night will begin with a campus parade at 6:15 p.m. followed by LHS vs Houston Game at 7:30 P.M. in the R.E. Hinze Stadium. Come out and see the CATS as they Top the Toppers.

WMC HealthFair Sept. 29 Winston Medical Center will host its annual healthfair on September 29, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Flu shots will be available on this date along with many other free health services. Free hotdogs will be available. Also, in conjunction with the healthfair, Winston Medical Center will also kick off its 2012-2013 Relay for Life fundraiser by sponsoring a carnival for kids. The University Medical Center is bringing the emergency transport helicopter for children and adults to tour. The Louisville Fire Department will have the fire trucks available for the kids as well as face painting, cake walks, games, jumpers and other activities for the children. Historic Preservation Commission Sept. 28 The Historic Preservation Commission will meet at the Chamber of Commerce Building at 2:00 P. M. Friday, September 28, 2012. All interested persons are encouraged to attend.

Winston Chiefs event Sept. 29 The Chicken Plate Sale for the Winston County Chiefs is set for the date of Saturday, September 29, 2012. You may purchase a ticket from any football player, cheerleader, or staff member. Each plate will consist of: 1/2 Smoked Chicken, Corn on the Cob, Baked Potato, & Bread for $7.00 per plate.

The Chiefs will host to the Choctaw Steelers of Ackerman, MS. Location for the Chicken Plate Sale and the game will be held at the Louisville High School Football Field, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. All proceeds will go towards the Chiefs 2012 Banquet.

Backwoods Comics Fest set Sept. 29 Cosplay will be going on at the BACKWOODS COMICS FESTIVAL on Sept 29 at the Coliseum in Louisville. What is Cosplay you ask. It’s simply dressing up in costumes. Cotton Gin Festival Sept. 29, 2012 The Noxapater Community Alliance will host their annual Cotton Gin Festival on September 29, 2012. This year’s festival promises to be bigger and better than ever.
