Retired Education Personnel of Miss. meeting is set for September 6, 2012 in Louisville City Hall at 1:00 PM. Speakers will be Representative Ted Evans, Senator Gary Jackson, Senator Sampson Jackson and Senator Giles Ward. They will discuss 2012 Legislative update

A donation for the Winston County Boys & Girls Club will be taken up at the meeting.

LHS Class of 1982 Sept. 7 The LHS class of 1982 will be holding its 30th class reunion on September 7 and 8, 2012. Activities include LHS football tailgate party beginning at 4:00 p.m. Friday night and a benefit walk for the American Heart Association. The public is invited to participate in the walk to raise money and awareness for the American Heart Association. A $5 registration is requested from the public to participate in the walk. Fulton Benefit Fundraiser Sept. 8 Benefit Fundraiser for Randy Fulton and Tammy Fulton will be held to help offset medical bills incurred by an accident Randy suffered 3 years ago. The benefit will be held Saturday, September 8 at Bethel Baptist Church on Highway 14 E. Tickets are being sold for chicken plates which include: grilled leg quarters, potato salad, baked beans, dessert, and bread. Tickets are $7.00. Moody Reunion Sept. 8 The Moody Reunion will be held, Saturday September 8, 2012, at Good Hope Baptist Church. Bring a covered dish and enjoy the fun food and fellowship.

Revival Sept. 9 Bethlehem Baptist Church of Ackerman, MS invites you to attend revival services Sunday, September 9th through 12th. The Sunday morning service will be at 11 AM. Sunday evening service will be at 6 PM. Monday through Wednesday services will begin at 6:45 PM. There will be special music for each service.

Red Hills Senior Citizens Sept. 11, 10 a.m.—2 p.m. Red Hills Senior Citizens will meet at the Louisville Coliseum on Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Please bring a covered dish.

AARP Sept. 12, 12 noon Winston County Area AARP Chapter #2859 will hold their after vacation meeting Sept. 12 at noon. The meeting will be held at 996 D.B. Williamson Road. All members are asked to bring a covered dish and enjoy the meeting.

Trail Ride Sept. 22 A Trail Ride will be held on Saturday, September 22 in south Winston County. It will leave the Indian Springs church parking lot at 10 a.m. and return in 5-6 hours. Bring your sack lunch for the trail. Food will be served at the end of the ride by the ladies of Indian Springs. “If you don’t have a horse, come ride in one of the wagons with us!” The church is located at the intersection of Hwy. 25 and Mt. Calvary Church Rd., 12 miles south of Louisville or 6 miles north of Hwy. 19.

Habitat event set Sept. 28 Habitat Cotton Gin Festival Kick-Off Concert will be September 28, 2012 at the Catfish Opera in Noxapater MS, from 7:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m. The Red Hills String Band will be performing bluegrass, country and gospel. Admission will be $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for 15 and under. Backwoods Comics Fest set Sept. 29 Cosplay will be going on at the BACKWOODS COMICS FESTIVAL on Sept 29th at the Coliseum in Louisville. What is Cosplay you ask. It’s simply dressing up in costumes. No need to wait for Halloween when you’re a geek or nerd, there’s plenty of times to costume up for comic cons and festivals. If you’re a Doctor Who fan then you will be glad to know that there will be folks at the Festival dressed as various Doctors from the show. Anime fans will be dressed as Anime characters. In fact there will be an Anime fan group present at the Festival. You may see super heroes , Jedi’s , Stormtroopers, Steampunkers, and maybe a Darth Vader or two. Cotton Gin Festival Sept. 29, 2012 The Noxapater Community Alliance will host their annual Cotton Gin Festival on September 29, 2012. This year’s festival promises to be bigger and better than ever. They are asking for donations of old clothing and shoe to bless this ministry.
