Refuge welcomes new biologist

Sam D. Hamilton Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge welcomes their new wildlife biologist, Steven Lewis.

Steven is a 2005 graduate of Mississippi State University, majoring in Wildlife Science within the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Aquaculture. Prior to his arrival at the Refuge, Steven has held wildlife biologist positions with USDA Wildlife Service in Arizona, US Army Fort Gordon in Georgia, and the US Forest Service – Delta National Forest, Mississippi. Most recently Steven served as deputy refuge manager at Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge in Alabama.

Steven, his wife Lindsey, and baby boy Grant are planning to move into Starkville community. Steven said, “I am looking forward to getting settled and am looking forward to the great opportunities both the Refuge and the community have to offer.” If you see Steven while at the Refuge be sure to give him a hearty welcome.
