Walton Fulton named ‘Eminent Bulldog’ by Mississippi State

From press reports

In honor of Walton Fulton’s 103rd birthday on July 25, 2012, MSU President Mark Keenum recognized Walton Fulton for his outstanding loyalty and his support, dedication and contributions to Mississippi State University throughout his lifetime by proclaiming for him the status of “Eminent Bulldog”. This acknowledgement is a very selective honor made by the Office of the President at MSU and is greatly appreciated by Walton and his family.

Attending Mississippi State football games on the chartered bus was a “family affair” and was one of his greatest pleasures for many years. He and his late wife Marguerite also held season tickets to MSU basketball games for many years, and his family came to feel that Humphrey Coliseum was built around Walton and Marguerite because they sat in the same seats for decades.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his birthday at a reception at Rocky Hill United Methodist Church, 1386 Rocky Hill Road on Sunday, July 29 from 2-4 p.m.
