Taylor Group promotes Lowery to Corporate Position

The Taylor Group, Inc., the holding company of Taylor Machine Works, Inc, Sudden Service, Inc, Taylor Power Systems, Inc., Taylor Holding, Inc. and Taylor Leasing, has named Robert Lowery as Director of IT.

Lowery’s promotion to the Director of IT position comes after Joe Boykin’s decision to retire after 43 years.

Lex Taylor, president of The Taylor Group stated, “We are very proud to see Robert Lowery’s promotion to this new senior staff level position. Robert has definitely put his time in for the training for this job and very deserving of it. I along with the entire Taylor family appreciate Robert’s commitment to this company, his standard of integrity and his energy. Robert Taylor, vice president, added, “Robert Lowery is a solid individual in which we have all the confidence in the world. His experience and willingness to take us into the next generation in regard to technology and information systems is extremely exciting for the future of our companies. He has a great IT team and we are proud of all of them.”

Lowery has been a part of the Taylor Group since 1978 and served as programmer/analyst in the 1980s.

In 1988 Lowery was named Manager of Systems Development where he served for 11 years. In 1999 he became manager of IT for the Taylor Group. After graduating from Noxapater High School in 1976, Lowery received his Associates degree from East Central Community College in Data Processing in 1978 and studied at Mississippi State University.

Lowery is the son of the late Willard and Laverne Russell Lowery. He and his wife, Jan Frasier Lowery have three children, Alison, Jonathan and Caden.
