Town and Country Garden Club Poetry Winner chosen

From press reports

Each year in November, the Town and Country Garden Club holds a poetry contest, which is sponsored by the National Garden Club, Inc. This contest is offered to students in kindergarten through 9th grade. This contest helps give children a chance to broaden their minds and talents as well as deepen their love for our world.

This year, Mrs. Rogers’ 2nd and 3rd grade Talented and Gifted (TAG) students from Fair Elementary and 5th grade TAG students from Louisville Elementary were invited to participate in the contest. The students were to choose one of two topics: Colorful Fruits or Tasty Vegetables.

Clayton Maury, a 3rd grade Talented and Gifted student from Fair Elementary, won the contest for the district, state, and went to win the Deep South Region contest. His poem is now on its way to the National competition.

Congratulations to Clayton for his achievement, and we wish him luck in the competition
