From press reports

The Winston County Early Head Start held Graduation Exercises for seven students. They were Bryce Stricklin, Ashanti Thompson, Kylan Macon, Jackson Ford, Kennedy Hayes, Hayden Moore and Kaleb White. This was the first graduation, but it will become an annual event.

The Early Head Start has been in existence since September 2010 in Winston County. The funded enrollment is 12. They serve students from 8 weeks to 3 years of age. Once a child turns three, they are transitioned into the regular Head Start.

The program is under the direction of Dr. Annie Lewis of Jackson. The graduates provided activities that were enjoyed by all.

The caregivers for the graduates were Mrs. Clara Cooper, Mrs. Deshawnda McClendon and Mrs. Linda Love. The regular Head Start held graduation on May 4. They had a total of 155 graduates. This event was held at the Louisville High School Auditorium.

The regular Head Start and Early Head Start are under the Regional Direction of mrs. Mattie Cooper and Center Direction of Mrs. Patty Curtis.
