The Red Hills Art Association showcased another year of talented young artist with its 11th annual RHAA Student Art Competition held Saturday, April 21. Local young artist were awarded May 4 for their efforts in creativity and artisitic form. “We are so impressed by all the work,” said RHAA member Dot DePriest. “We hope this will encourage each person to keep painting.” Winners for the show were: Claire Baskin, age 9, with a first place; Landon Christopher, age 15, with a first place; Peyton McMinn, age16; and Bella Brownlee with a second place. Honorable mentions were: Ashlea Howell, Katy Chen, Anna Grace Baskin, Abby Lynch, Laney Ray, Eric Humphries, Eve Allman, Landon Christopher, and Bailey Taylor. No entry fee is charged for the youth show and entries are limited to 2 per member. Students must be a member of the Red Hills Art Association. Entries must be original artwork completed in the last 2 years.. The RHAA adult art show was held May 14 through May 26 with the works on display during the Red Hills Art show.
