Blowout Talent Show May 25, 8 p.m. The Blowout Talent Show will be held at Taylor Union Hall on May 25 at 8 p.m. The entry fee is $7. A dance will follow immediately after the talent show. Zama Reunion May 26 The Zama School reunion will be held on May 26, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. II will be held in what was the former Zama School Building which in now the Zama Baptist Church Worship Center. All former teachers, students and those interested in being a part of the meeting and socializing are invited to attend. This year’s theme will be School Memories so be prepared to share what you remember of your school days

Annual Homecoming event set May 26 The 3rd annual Winston County Homecoming is scheduled on May 26 in conjunction with the Red Hills Festival. There will be a mini – museum located in the Winston County Courthouse from 9 am til 2 pm with historical photos, class photos and composites,interesting artifacts and a slide show. Folks are encouraged to bring their own photos and items and participate. Ford School Reunion May 26, 10:30 a.m. The Ford School Reunion will be held on May 26 at Lake Tiak O’ Khata starting at 10:30 a.m. UMC to host May 27 Memorial services Camp Ground United Methodist Church will observe Memorial services Sunday, May 27 at 11 a.m. followed by dinner on the grounds.

Women’s Day Program May 27, 3 p.m. Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church and Women’s Ministry invite the public to come and worship with us on our Women’s Day on May 27 at 3 p.m. Our guest minister is Minister Joyce Clark, Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Noxapater. Our theme is “Sisters in the Spirit.”

Union Chapel event May 27 Union Chapel M.B. Church will have their Annual Memorial Day Program on Sunday May 27, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. The guest speaker will be Reverend Sylvester Miller, III, Pastor of Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church in Brighton, Alabama. The public is cordially invited to attend.

Friends and Family Day (Homecoming) May 27 Mt. Pisgah M.B. Church will hold its annual Homecoming Friends and Family Day celebration on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. George Love from Mt. Cannie M.B. Church of Louisville. Betheden Methodist May 27 The annual memorial service at Bethel Methodist Church will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Sunday May 27, 2012. The church is located on Sharp Road in southwestern Oktibbeha County, one mile east of Choctaw County and one-fourth mile north of Winston County. The service will be conducted by Danny Cheatham, a lay speaker from Gum Branch Baptist Church. This is the only scheduled event held at the old country church.

Bethel- Harmony District Congress of Christian Education The Bethel Harmony District Congress Christian Leadership School will be held May 29- June 1, 2012 @ Mt. Bell M.B. Church of Louisville beginning at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday evening will be youth night and musical following class study. The public is welcome to come be inspired and informed by certified instructors. President, Rev. Preston Coleman will address the Congress on Friday night and Dean, Dr. Nola Bryant will address the assemblage on Thursday night at 7:30pm.

Indian Springs Homecoming June 10 Indian Springs Assembly of God will have Homecoming and Memorial Service on Sunday June 10. The service will begin at 10 a.m. with dinner on the grounds at noon. The morning speaker will be Rev. Gerald Branum, Missionary to Western Europe. There will be featured singers during the service. You are welcome to come enjoy the worship and fellowship. The church is located at the intersection of Hwy. 25 and Mt. Calvary Church Rd., 12 miles south of Louisville or 6 miles north of Hwy. 19.

Memorial Service June 10, 11 a.m. Calvary Baptist Church, 4109 Old Robinson Road in Louisville will have Memorial Services on June 10 at 11 a.m., with Dr. Paul Blanchard bringing the message, followed by a covered dish lunch in fellowship hall.

Class of 1982 reunion set for Sept. 7 The Louisville Class of 1982 will be celebrating its 30th year Class Reunion the weekend of September 7, 2012. Walking in Wellness Winston County Self Help Cooperative in conjunction with the Diabetes Coalition is Walking in Wellness every Saturday 9AM to 10AM at Ivy Park. Come out and take charge of your health. AA Meets Louisville/Winston County Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet Monday and Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. beginning the first week of January 2012 on the second floor of the community house. Meetings until then will still take place on Wednesday and Friday nights at 7:30 p.m.

Habitat for Humanity items for sale Winston County Habitat for Humanity has signed Gail Pittman Christmas ornaments and plates for sale at the Silver Goose and Habitat cookbooks for sale at the Winston County Library. The Habitat for Humanity is also seeking board members with construction and other knowledge to help advise on the present home building project The Winston

County Paparazzi The Winston County Paparazzi is working with the MSU Extension Office in Louisville to offer monthly meetings for photography enthusiasts. The Louisville Municipal School District will soon start their Summer Feeding Program, which provides free meals to all children 18 years of age and under (or persons 19 and over who are mentally or physically disabled and participating in a public or private nonprofit school program for the mentally or physically disabled.) Breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m.—8:30 a.m., and lunch will be served 10:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m. at the follwing locations: Eiland Middle School, Monday—Friday, June 4-29. Nanih Waiya and Noxapater schools, Monday through Thursday, June 4-28; Monday and Tuesday, July 2-3; Monday through Thursday, July 16-26. Louisville High School, Monday through Thursday, June 4-28; Monday and Tuesday, July 2-3; Monday through Thursday, July 9-31.

Class of 1987 reunion upcoming The time has come to celebrate of the Louisville High School 25th reunion. The event is scheduled for Nov. 23,24, and 25 which is Thanksgiving weekend. Backwoods Comics Fest set Sept. 29 This week at BUBBAWORLDCOMIX.NET website a different artist is drawing and writing each strip each day in celebration of April Fools Week. The fun thing about this is that each of the six artists that are helping with this will be at the BACKWOODS COMICS FEST on Sept. 29, held at the Louisville Coliseum. Some of them will even be part of the panel discussion at the Strand Theater the night before. These artists range from Web Cartoonists to independent artists and even a couple of them have worked for companies like Marvel & DC. Check out the website for a peek of just a few of the artists.
