Ebonette Pageant winners recognized

For more than thirty years, The Ebonette Club has sponsored the Miss Ebonette Scholarship Pageant. This year, fifteen seniors from Winston County participated in the local pageant. This event was held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 7 p.m. in the Louisville High School auditorium. The theme was “Easter Jog, Hop to It.” Four scholarships were awarded: Miss Ebonette ($1,000) to Cherish Triplett, 1st Alternate ($300) to Kaylin Hopkins, 2nd Alternate ($200) to Shantiara Houston, and the Scholastic Award ($100) also to Kaylin Hopkins. Trophies were given for the Talent Award to Cherish Triplett and Miss Congeniality who was Danielle Hicks. All contestants received flowers and trophies. The members of the Ebonette club would like to thank the public for their support during this event. All proceeds from the event go back into community projects for the club. From press reports
